If you use organic/living soil, then there is no need for additional nutrients. Most of the soil blend already contains a wide range of beneficial microorganisms, organic matter, and essential nutrients! However, if you do wish to utilize additional nutrition in the flowering/bloom stage, we recommend using dry soil amendments!
You can purchase organic soil from local nurseries, plant vendors, hydroponic shops, hardware stores, or even online stores. Hey abby store also offers 5-gallon organic soil specially made for the Soil Edition, so you don’t have to worry about storing extra soil at home.
It’s best to use the puriest water available! Try to avoid water sources with a high level of dissolved solids, or sanitizing chemicals as they can reduce the number of microorganisms living in the soil.
Optimally, the water used on the plant will be in the 6.3-6.8 range.
If you start growing with a seed, the soil edition may be a better recommendation than 420 SE. As seeds typically sprout faster in soil.
