One of the most popular and impactful strains to ever hit the market, there is a reason Gelato #33 is nicknamed after the legendary Hall of Fame basketballer Larry Bird! Gelato 33 weed strain is known not only for its game-changing flavor and aroma profile, but also for the punch it provides!

In this article, we'll provide info and insight into this everpopular strain, covering its background, flavor profile, and even give some info on growing the Larry Bird strain! Let's get into it...

Growing Tips

Gelato #33 weed strain can give growers some difficulties, but if grown properly, it also will provide a rewarding yield in a rather short amount of time! Gelato #33 grows to a medium size and is a quick finisher, only taking about 8 weeks to ripen.

It's somewhat sensitive to the growing conditions, which makes it more suitable for growing indoors. This strain does better in warmer conditions with high intensity of light. As it nears the end of its flowering period, it's best to cool the environment down and keep it on the drier side to help keep the flowers dense and bring the color out!

Characteristics

Larry Bird strain buds are typically round and lumpy, with a dense structure. Their color can vary from very dark green to a dark magenta colored purple. Regardless of the color, the buds typically appear almost white, due to a heavy coating of resin and trichomes. The dark color contrasts with the white frosty coating, and makes the buds orange hairs stand out and look extremely vibrant!

This strain features a minty pine aroma and a flavor profile that combines minty, lemony pine with a sweet exhale. Larry Bird Kush buds are dark forest green and medium-sized, shaped like popcorn, with olive green leaves and undertones.

Origin & Use

Origin of Larry Bird Strain

The renowned "Gelato" breeding project of CookieFam Genetics was conducted by crossing the famous strains Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies, and Sunset Sherbert. The project produced many fire phenotypes of gelato, but Gelato #33 (33rd phenotype of gelato) stands out above the rest.

This strain was nicknamed "Larry Bird" as it shares the same phenotype number as the hall of fame basketball player wore, 33. It's a strain that checks all of the boxes: high yield, potency, incredible flavor profile, and plenty of bag-appeal (looks and aroma).

Gelato #33 strain delivered a unique flavor profile that's both sweet and creamy, like... Well, Gelato!
