Troubleshooting Guide | Water Leaking

If you notice any leaking, here are 4 possible causes:

Scenario One: Moving Hey abby

What happened: When moving your grow box around, if you push too hard or too quickly, water in the reservoir will spill over the edge. 

Solution: When moving abby, be sure to empty the water reservoir in advance. If you can't empty it, make sure to push the device gently. Do your best not to jostle or shake the device. 

Scenario Two: Condensation from Air Pump

What happened #1: The air pump generates droplets, which can cause condensation to form on the reservoir lid. When too much condensation builds up, it can leak over the edge and down the tank. 

Solution: Drain some water out to lower the water level. We recommend keeping it below the red line, rather than the "3 GAL" line.

What happened #2: The air pump might be too strong, creating excessive air pressure. This could also cause condensation at the opening of the reservoir lid, which then drips down the tank.

You can open the lid and check if there are any water droplets formed. If so, it means the air pump is too strong.

Solution: Try moving the air stone from position 1 to position 2, or just place it in the middle or towards the back of the tank. This will help prevent moisture from condensing at the edges. Plus, since the plant roots are in the center, there shouldn’t be any moisture coming out from there.

Scenario Three: Loose Pump

What happened: In very rare cases, the connection between the water pump and the hose is loose, causing water leakage.

Solution: Use the zip tie to tighten the hose.

Scenario Four: Water Pump Loose Screws/Crack

What happened: In very rare cases, the water pump screws are loose, or the water pump itself has cracks, causing water to overflow.

Solution: Tighten the screws with a screwdriver, if there is still water overflowing, it needs to be replaced with a new water pump. Contact our support team.
